Sally’s paintings are usually developed from line drawings though ideas can come from anywhere. Drawing in its different forms has been important in learning to respond, select and ‘design’. Whatever the medium there is always an emphasis on formal considerations such as shape, pattern and structure.  
Portraiture has been a focus, making countless on-the-spot portraits at various events largely around the south of England but also in Australia. Now based back in Poole and the focus is firmly on drawing and oil painting.
