I first became fascinated with colour and painting through the medium of watercolour, but now work mainly in acrylic paints and inks, using collage to accentuate form and structure.

I work mainly from sketches or photographs and am inspired by reflections and the effect of light on the subjects. My artistic process requires me to work in the studio, but inspiration is often gathered from working en plein air.

My subject matter often involves buildings, boats or industrial landscapes and sometimes includes the layering of different images which brings an element of abstraction to the work. Occasionally I include impressions of the human form to enhance perspective and bring life to the work.
