Margarete’s recent work is about her response to the landscape of Dorset and Pembrokeshire and her love of nature. The recording of her interaction with the environment through sketches and a written diary is essential preparation to her final paintings.

Layers of oil paint in mainly abstract compositions is one of the ways in which Margarete expresses her passion for her subject. Setting herself challenges, working in inventive ways, pushing boundaries with colour composition and materials, is both scary and exciting!
