Tina Peacock
“It’s not a place. It’s a feeling”
Tina’s work explores themes of fragmented memory, grief and human relationships in connection to place.
Growing up in Falmouth, Cornwall, Tina’s childhood was spent in the countryside, on the beach and immersed in the sea and this has deeply influenced her work. As a Dorset based artist, she paints intuitively in acrylic, watercolour, oil pastel and ink and takes inspiration from the poetry of Mary Oliver.
Her body of work is a profound emotional response to the world around her, both landscape and seascape. A memory is evoked, both of the image and its inner emotional resonance and is expressed through the use of colour and bold mark making. Energy charging, strong brush strokes. Layers of paint are scraped back, more paint applied. This process depicts the evolution of nature and the human spirit. Our combined interconnected vulnerability. The fragile threads that bind us.
Working from her rural studio near Wimborne, Tina regularly exhibits work in Dorset and nationally. She is a selected exhibitor with Bath Contemporary Artists Fair, a Contemporary Art Academy, London alumni and a selected ArtCan member. She is also a member of Cosimo Art and Dorset Visual Arts.
