Sarah Lyon

Sarah studied at Bournemouth Institute of Art and Design where she completed a Foundation Course and as part of this course, developed an interest in printmaking. She has attended many courses and workshops back at the Institute to develop her skills in various aspects of printmaking.  Sarah also now has her own etching press at home so she can spend more time on this.

Sarah obtained her Diploma three years ago.  After this she spent two years studying painting and completed an NCFE course, also run by Bournemouth Institute.  She now uses both techniques in her work and employs a variety of styles especially in her printmaking.  Sarah’s main interests are collographs and monoprints – using as many different ways of working as she can think of and the possibilities are endless.  Her main interests are capturing the atmosphere surrounding landscapes and buildings, and would say she works in a fairly impressionistic way, although rather more abstract in her printmaking.
