Margarete A Tucknott

Creative pursuits, including painting, have been a part of Margarete’s life since childhood.

Studying, in 1990-2, for a City and Guilds qualification in Sugarcraft reawakened Margarete’s interest in painting. Its fifty per cent art component under the guidance of an art tutor became the aspect that she found most inspiring. Latterly she has studied for the NCFE in Advanced Art and Design with Penny Balding and now takes every opportunity to continue developing her skills on short courses with artists ~ Bonnie Brown, Teresa Lawton, Emily Ball, Helen Turner and Francis Hatch. She has also studied the art of Batik on cotton and paper with international artist Noel Dyrenforth.

As Margarete has built up experience in different art forms so she has come to prefer using as wide a range of materials as possible ~ acrylic, oil, oil pastels, procien dyes, watercolour, charcoal, etc.

Music is an essential part of her painting life and inspires her to create more abstract forms of expression in her paintings.
