Joy Shepherd: Painter/printmaker.

Studied at Farnham Art School and Southampton Institute.

Has exhibited in many group shows, including the Royal Academy, and is a member of the Poole Printmakers group.

Artist’s Statement:

My work is mainly concerned with people, birds and animals - mainly in that order! The printing techniques I use are monoprint, linoprint and etching and they all originate in my sketchbook - drawings from the beaches, farmland and fields near where I live. Rooks nest in the tree by my studio and one daughter-in-law breeds rare chickens, another has horses. There is no lack of models!
