Anne Toase

The foundations of her working practise is drawing and the expression of colour. Life drawing was her first love and has been an enduring passion. Anne works directly from the models, painting in watercolour, oil and pastels.  Also using her drawings as the basis for more abstract work.

Anne is currently working in oils on a series of Birch tree paintings which has been in progress for over a year.  This series comprising over 20 works is inspired by the beauty of the New Forest. The changing colours each week have become a fascination, and the subtlety of the winter palette has been a particular joy to explore.
